The EAC AfT Strategy will enable the region integrate regionally while also deepening intra-African and international trade opportunities. It will also greatly enhance the region’s resource mobilization capacity by providing clarity on the region’s trade-related capacities and supply-side constraints.
Specifically, the Strategy will help identify areas of market access and value chains opportunities. It will focus on alleviating costs and constraints to doing business looking at customs reforms and border agencies to help in lowering trade costs, while also helping to promote the sharing of trade-related information across the region.
